5 Star Performance, 4 Star Experience
Absolute favorite band of all time. Absolute killer performance. As a band who always has on-point productions, however, I must point out what I believe to have been incredibly obvious flaws in the show, that kept me from having the 5 star experience. 1) This was a tour in support of a brand new album. That being said, I have no idea why you would open a set with your previous album’s opening song. To me, this is an obvious no-no. One of my favorite songs, but bad form nonetheless. 2) This was a recycled set, with extra time for 3 or 4 extra songs. Having seen them just a year ago, I noticed that this set was the same set as last time, with a couple extra songs. Again, super grateful and all, but it goes back to the point being that this is technically a new tour, play a new set. Overall, it’s always a pleasure to see these dudes, but before last year, I hadn’t seen them in over ten years, so I was really excited to see them twice in quick succession, but I’m just a touch let down that it was basically the same show twice. I feel bad complaining, because it was awesome, but I really would have appreciated a different set.
